Abbey Boilers Heating Systems For Rural Areas

At Abbey Boilers, we serve Horsham and the surrounding areas of Surrey and West Sussex. As such, a lot of the land we cover can be considered quite rural. The beautiful countryside of West Sussex has a considerable number of farms, country houses, and villages. Sometimes a traditional boiler heating system just isn’t practical or EVEN possible. And so, our service engineers at Abbey Boilers are skilled and certified in the installation and maintenance of LPG boiler systems.

An LPG Boiler System - What Is It And How Does It Work?

LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas. It works in the same way that both an oil boiler or natural gas boiler works. The boiler burns the fuel and this then heats up the water that you are receiving from the source. This heated water is then pumped around the radiators in your home and is available for bathing, washing up, etc.

The main difference between a natural gas supplied boiler and a boiler that is an LPG - is that the LPG gas is stored in a tank at your home - rather than delivered via pipping from an external source.

If you think your home would benefit from an LPG heating system then you will need an LPG storage tank, LPG heating system, and LPG supplier.

Why We Might Recommend You Use An LPG System?

At Abbey Boilers in Horsham and West Sussex, we recommend our rural customers use an LPG system for a variety of reasons.

Installation is the trickiest bit but once it’s installed, you’re going to enjoy a great number of benefits:

  • It’s Much Cheaper

The upfront cost of an LPG boiler is considerably less than an oil boiler.

  • It’s Green

Indeed, an LPG boiler runs on fossil fuel, just like an oil boiler. But compared to oil - LPG produces 15-20% fewer emissions and therefore your carbon footprint is much less. Better for the environment indeed. At Abbey Boilers, we’re very conscious of the environment and try to recommend an LPG when suitable. Add to this, the LPG boiler is far more efficient than the oil version. Further helping lower emissions.

  • More Choice

You are more likely to be able to find an LPG boiler that meets your specific needs. Simply because there are far more to choose from. Widely available.

Valiant, Ideal, Worcester Bosch and Baxi are all makers of LPG boilers and have models in a variety of shapes, sizes, and outputs. You’ll even be able to find some hybrid convertibles - where a natural gas boiler can be converted to LPG at a later date - if so wished.
